How To Clean Your Face Properly

Your facial cleanser just won’t get rid of all your eye makeup, and you’ll be left looking like a raccoon if you do not take the time to properly remove all your makeup around your eyes. Using an eye makeup remover, either liquid on a cotton ball or a wipe, is the best way to get rid of all your eye makeup. Start on the top of your lids and wipe down over your lashes, then clean up the makeup on the skin under your eyes. Be sure to be gentle. The skin in the eye area is quite delicate and easily prone to damage. If you use foundation or a BB cream during the day, not to mention blush, highlighter, or concealer, you need to remove all that makeup before cleansing your face.

You should be spending a full minute cleaning your face. This isn’t a skin care step to cut corners with. If your skin is oily to combination, use a foaming cleanser that bubbles up. If your skin is more normal to dry, a moisturizing cleanser is your best bet.

If you want smooth skin, healthy, and glowing skin, you must exfoliate regularly. When you exfoliate on a regular basis your skin is healthier, brighter, and all your other skin care products work better, since they can penetrate better into the skin.

Always exfoliate after you cleanse your skin, and use an exfoliator made specifically for the face and for your skin type. Remember not to go overboard when it comes to exfoliation. Too much and your skin can become red and irritated.

If you do not cleanse your face at night your skin will become irritated and actually age faster. Though we recommend washing your face in the morning as well, many people prefer to skip that step. But not washing your face at night is simply irresponsible. If you do only one thing for your skin let it be washing your face before bed.

After a long day, your face has makeup, dirt and grime on it; the last thing you want to do is leave it there for another 8 hours. And if you do, this makes morning cleansing so much harder to do. If you don’t want to have an intensive bedtime routine, simply use a facial cleansing cloth to clean your face.
